NRC Full Form
The complete form of NRC is the National Registry of Citizens, a process designed to identify and exclude illegal immigrants from India. While the NRC process was recently concluded in Assam, the Union Home Minister announced in November, during a parliamentary session, that the NRC would be extended nationwide.
What are the qualification requirements for NRC? To qualify as a citizen under NRC, an individual must demonstrate that they or their ancestors were present in India before March 24, 1971.
The Assam NRC initiative aimed to identify and exclude illegal Bangladeshi immigrants who entered India during the India-Pakistan war in 1971.
